Biography

Ira Prohorova is a Tel Aviv-based artist and photographer. Born in Russia in 1990, she brings 15 years of experience behind the lens and a multidisciplinary perspective to her work. She speaks English, Hebrew, and Russian fluently, and works in Israel and abroad.

A portrait photographer at her core, Ira seeks to capture the essence of her subjects. She believes in revealing the charisma and spirit within each individual. Her approach favors natural light, creating authentic images deeply connected to their environment. She's worked with clients such as Givenchy, Forbes International, Etsy, Lindenstaub, and the Petah Tikva Museum of Art.

Beyond commercial work, Ira explores themes of memory, identity, and migration through video, sculpture, installation, painting, and sound. She holds a BEdFA with honors from Seminar Hakibbutzim, including an exchange semester at Kunsthochschule Kassel (Germany), and has exhibited her work in Israel and Germany, including the Edmond de Rothschild Center, Institut Français, Mimikri gallery (solo, Kassel), and the Ausstellungshalle KhK.

Ira is a recipient of of several grants, including the Excellence Award from the Israeli Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and is a graduate of the Edmund de Rothschild Center's Professional training program and a member of the Center’s artist alumni network.
